Real Simple Magazine produced an incredible issue that addressed energy. Here is my summary of their pages of information:
Exposure to sunlight in morning stimulates your brain to stop producing melatonin (sleep hormone) and resets suprachiasmatic nucleus (circadian control in brain).
The 1st physical activity of the day raises body temp & increases blood flow to the brain.
Look at something you love (grateful for) to come out of survival mode and counteract the body’s signal that we are in danger.
Shower Scents: Citrus, Eucalyptus, Mint (Origins’ Gloomaway grapefruit cleanser or Alora Ambiance’s Arancia citru-scented soap)
Decrease the morning decisions by making them the night before (clothes, food).
Switch up your routine to increase dopamine.
Switch channels mentally every 90 minutes - taking a physical, mental or emotional break.
Take a breath any time you look at the clock.
Brain teasers activate the reward system of the brain.
At lunchtime, do something you look forward to or make plans to to something fun.
A 10 minute walk can increase your energy for up to 2 hours.
