In mid-August I opened an email that brought tears to my eyes.
I live for surprises like that.
Some are more profound than others. The big surprises often get more acknowledgement, but can move us just as much as the little ones. Rain showers, a message from a good friend or smile on a strangers face have never ceased to warm my heart.
It's the little things that have a deep impact.
This is why I love teaching. There are many small gifts to be received in the classroom, even amongst the frustrations and challenges.
"Each day comes bearing gifts; untie the ribbons."
This is the quote I chose for the yearbook as a senior in high school. It's still my favorite.
When the graduating massage class at Health Works Institute emailed me in August to request I speak at their graduation ceremony, it humbled my heart.
It's been quite the year of change for me and them. The opportunity to reflect and share my thoughts not only moved the audience, but nourished my soul.
I recorded this 10 minute talk so you could benefit from the message too. Click the play button and elevate your day.
Yesterday, in my mindful female entrepreneurs group we discussed the importance of knowing what feelings you want to experience in life and being open to the opportunities and people who arise to fulfill your intentions.
I didn't set goals to be a massage therapist instructor or graduation speaker, but the resulting feelings are in perfect alignment with what I want to feel in my life.
